What are we working on right now?
Middlesex County Center for Empowerment Survivor Play
& Embodiment Documentation
In partnership with coLAB Arts and the Middlesex County Center for Empowerment, NJCTI is currently developing a full-length, verbatim theater piece based on the oral histories of power-based personal violence survivors. NJCTI Lead Faculty members Stephanie Van Bond and Marissa Aucoin will be developing, directing, and choreographing the work throughout 2022 and 2023. As they work on the project, a professional dramaturg will be employed to document the creation process - including new, healthy practices we discover in our work with survivors and performers.
This page will be updated as more information becomes available about the production, performances, and ways to be more involved.
Stage Intimacy Choreographer Certificate Program
NJCTI believes that healthy staged intimacy practices should be available at all levels of the performing arts. To make that a reality, we are actively building a certificate program (that can be taken in person or online) for theater and performing arts professionals to train in our healthy staged intimacy practices. Our faculty expect this program to be available to the public as early as January 2024.
Feel free to check this page for more updates as the certificate program develops.
